Introduction

Teaching, Learning, Assessment, and Reporting (TLAR)

Teaching and Learning are at the heart of our school community. Our approach to teaching and learning is modeled on best practices and is informed by the Department of Education and Skills policy and practice. Each subject department is represented on the school’s TLAR committee, which brings teachers together to work collaboratively, sharing best practices and developing expertise.

The TLAR committee has launched various initiatives which enhance teaching and learning across the school. Academic Tracking, Active Learning strategies, and the development of Assessment for Learning methodologies are just examples of the initiatives which have been promoted by the TLAR committee. The committee meets several times a year to evaluate the effectiveness of our initiatives and to assess areas of further improvement. We continually review our initiatives following School Self-Evaluation guidelines.
